چکیده
Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common degenerative joint diseases associated with aging, obesity and trauma, always pain, deformity dysfunction. Recent studies have shown that OA closely related to oxidative stress, which serves as a major cause chronic inflammation in cartilage, leading irreversible structural changes joint. As transcription factor, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2) plays an important role antioxidant system, regulates expression cytoprotective genes facilitate elimination reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this review, we summarized dramatic function stress pathology, established complex regulatory network Nrf2 progression, aimed provide new insights into treatment OA.

Effect of redox modulating NRF2 activators on chronic kidney disease.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is featured by a progressive decline of kidney function and is mainly caused by chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension. CKD is a complex disease due to cardiovascular complications and high morbidity; however, there is no single treatment to improve kidney function in CKD patients. Since biological markers representing oxidative stress are signi...
متن کاملRedox Modulating NRF2: A Potential Mediator of Cancer Stem Cell Resistance
Tumors contain a distinct small subpopulation of cells that possess stem cell-like characteristics. These cells have been called cancer stem cells (CSCs) and are thought to be responsible for anticancer drug resistance and tumor relapse after therapy. Emerging evidence indicates that CSCs share many properties, such as self-renewal and quiescence, with normal stem cells. In particular, CSCs and...
متن کاملNrf2 participates in regulating maternal hepatic adaptations to pregnancy.
Pregnancy induces widespread adaptive responses in maternal organ systems including the liver. The maternal liver exhibits significant growth by increasing the number and size of hepatocytes, by largely unknown mechanisms. Nrf2 mediates cellular defense against oxidative stress and inflammation and also regulates liver regeneration. To determine whether Nrf2 is involved in the regulation of mat...
متن کاملSkin Redox Balance Maintenance: The Need for an Nrf2-Activator Delivery System
The skin, being the largest organ of the body, functions as a barrier between our body and the environment. It is consistently exposed to various exogenous and endogenous stressors (e.g., air pollutants, ionizing and non-ionizing irradiation, toxins, mitochondrial metabolism, enzyme activity, inflammatory process, etc.) producing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and physical damage (e.g., wounds, ...
متن کاملInactivated Mycobacterium phlei inhalation ameliorates allergic asthma through modulating the balance of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T and Th17 cells in mice
Objective(s): Th2 response is related to the aetiology of asthma, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. To address this point, the effect of nebulized inhalation of inactivated Mycobacterium phlei on modulation of asthmatic airway inflammation was investigated. Materials and Methods: 24 male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into three groups: control group (Group A), asthma model group (G...
